Job Import Setup - Step by Step

Follow these steps to import jobs from an XML feed into your site.

Add a Job Subscription Pricing Plan

If you don't already have a job subscription pricing plan:
  1. Navigate to Employment > Pricing
  2. Press Add New Record
  3. Complete the form and press Add Record
The pricing plan attributes (featured/non-featured status, listing duration) will be applied to all imported jobs.

Add the Customer/Employer

  1. Log in to your backoffice/admin
  2. Navigate to Customers > View Edit
  3. Press Add New Record
  4. Select Employer as customer type
  5. Fill in name, address, and other details
  6. Press Add Customer

Add a Subscription for the Customer

  1. The new customer will appear on the Customers page
  2. Click the Edit link next to the customer's name
  3. On the Update Customer page, click Subscriptions in the right sidebar
  4. Press Add New Record
  5. Complete the subscription form and press Add Record

Configure the Job Import

  1. Navigate to Employment > Job Import
  2. Press Add Record
  3. Complete the form:
    • Customer & Subscription - Select the customer and subscription to use
    • Feed URL - Enter the URL of the customer's XML feed
    • Multi-Company - Set to "No" if the feed is for one employer only; "Yes" if it contains multiple employers
    • Hide Company Profile - Set to "Yes" if the feed contains many employers
    • Filter - Select No Filtering to get started (filtering is covered in a separate article)
  4. Press Add Record
Your feed now appears under "Customers setup for Import" and is ready for testing.

Test the Import

  1. Press the Run this Import button
  2. Review the results:
    • Jobs Imported
    • Jobs Previously Imported
    • Jobs Deleted
    • Jobs in XML File Processed
    • Jobs with No Errors
    • Jobs with Errors
  3. Press Last Process Log to view detailed processing information and any errors
Imported jobs are now visible on your website. If everything looks good, setup is complete.
If there are issues: Click Delete these Jobs to immediately remove them from your site until the data is corrected.

Schedule Automated Processing

After testing, contact us to add your feed to the system scheduler for daily processing. Once scheduled, your site will automatically:
  • Add new jobs daily
  • Remove jobs that are no longer active
